More about ball collector

Prototyped a messy one-wheel "shooter" w/ adjustable ramp yesterday to see if it could pick up & hurl balls from the ground up the ramp. It worked! Also the ramp can go almost vertical, sweet.


Can we get a wider collection mechanism, using multiple wheels or one big roller wheel? Mike proto'd shooter v2 (plus sorter & storage!) while I went to camm the sorter DXF.

cardboard behemoth = awesome.

Two-wheel works great, but gets jammed w/ multiple balls. We put a slanted roofpiece in to deflect the balls into the sorter. Still haven't gotten the deflection angle quite right; the balls sometimes bounce back down the ramp. The shooter propels them pretty hard.

So one wheel or multiple wheels? Or option 3: giant roller?

To do:
+ Testing whether a wedge in the front of the robot can shunt balls into the single-wheel shooter
+ Figure out deflection angle of top piece to get balls into sorter
+ Prototype big roller out of foam
